Desperate times call for desperate measures! So when food is short and there are mouths to feed something's got to give. But when mum and dad leave the kids in the wood there turns out to be more questions than answers:
Will the woodcutter turn out to be man or mouse?
Will Hansel and Gretel ever find their way back home?
Will the future be free-range or oven-ready?
A sparkling re-telling of the familiar tale of breadcrumbs and witches makes a perfect recipe for a great night out. |

A man is interrogated in a totalitarian state for murders that uncannily resemble those in the children’s stories he writes. Hilarious, disturbing, and deeply poignant, the winner of the 2004 Olivier Award for Best New Play is one bed-time story that may not help you sleep. |

Visions of the Beyond
For its first concert of the 2008/9 season, the Oxford Bach Choir will join forces with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to perform Sancta Civitas and Five Mystical Songs by Vaughan Williams, Blest Pair of Sirens by Parry and Holst's Hymn of Jesus. The concert will be a double celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Ralph Vaughan Williams and to celebrate the support which the Oxford Bach Choir has given to new music throughout its history. Not only did all three composers conduct the choir but the choir also gave several world premieres and early performances of their music, including the first performance of Sancta Civitas in the Sheldonian in May 1926.
The choir will be conducted for this special performance by its principal conductor, Nicholas Cleobury and joined by soloists Daniel Turner (Tenor) and Derek Welton (Baritone). |
